Originally designed for the Swedish military, Woolpower thermals are absurdly comfortable, self-cleaning and will keep you warm in the bitterest of cold. Tiny little fabric loops inside hold warmth against your body and the wool blend never gets funky.
This impossibly thin, light, flexible jacket is my wintertime go-to. Three layers of Gore-Tex block wind and water. The jacket was designed for Alpine climbing and easily weathers the worst, coldest storms I’ve ever been in while keeping you warm and dry without sacrificing mobility.
These durable, 12-ounce 100% cotton-duck work pants have double-front panels, which are great if you’re always putting a knee on the ground to work on something. They’re also great in cold weather. (They’re not waterproof though, so that’s what the next item on the list is for).
Lightweight, breathable and waterproof, I pull these on over my regular pants and get through pouring thunderstorms or mushy-wet snowstorms completely bone-dry.
The best boots I’ve ever owned. Comfortable, waterproof yet breathable thanks to Gore-Tex, and the innovative folding tongue makes them super easy to get in and out of. They can also be re-soled, so I’ll keep these boots forever.
