This year many year-end portfolio shows were abruptly canceled due to the coronavirus outbreak, leaving students and faculty without a means to share their accomplishments with a wide audience. These important events provide a platform for students to get valuable exposure and feedback on their work, make industry connections and celebrate the conclusion of an intense period of productivity and creativity.
To help counter this situation we are inviting schools and students to publish their shows online to allow everyone who otherwise would have visited a show in person to view and appreciate the results of a year (or more) of hard work and dedication.
We're also reaching out to the design community to ask professionals to volunteer their time to review the work and provide feedback and commentary through live video sessions. We hope that this effort helps ease some of the stress people are feeling, and provides a way for everyone working in the design industry to come together and look toward a brighter future.
