KOVA Smart Opioid Pill Dispenser
The opioid pill dispenser leverages technology to reimagine prescription practices for opioid medications in response to the opioid epidemic. My solution to opioid misuse starts with a smart pill dispenser, coupled with an online health portal, that can accurately monitor a patient's intake in real time. The device bridges the gap between the physician and the home fostering an intelligent conversation with healthcare professionals to better manage a patient's recovery and safety remotely.

Jordan Tull

Hi, I'm Jordan Tull. Coming from the University of Kansas, I have gained experience in a myriad of directions from tech and furniture to footwear. Throughout school I have gained an emphasis on footwear and soft goods, however my passion for footwear began at an early age with my appreciation of the sneakerhead culture. I would like to think my design process is practical with a flourish of nonsense making for a more enjoyable and thoughtful experience on each project.

Ramsey Carter

I am Ramsey Carter. I was born to two designers and have spent my entire life surrounded by design and learning to appreciate the beauty in the world around me. I have pursued Industrial Design because I love the process of building and creating something meaningful. I am inspired by the beauty of products both in appearance and function, a consideration that I bring to every step of the process from sketching and hand modeling, to the final CAD and renders. My background in blacksmithing has also given me a strong understanding of 3D space and form and an appreciation for craft. I spent most of this semester working as an intern for the Workplace Innovation Team at Steelcase. While there I worked closely with Mark Mckenna, the Global Design Director of Workplace Innovation, on several products that were bound for NeoCon in June. On these projects I worked on a range of tasks from ideation and prototyping to CAD and Renders. After my internship was cut short by COVID-19 I returned to KU and began work on a short version of senior project.

Webster Johnson

I am a making focused designer with a love of mixing craft with problem solving. If I can't say something better, I won't say something different. To me, design is more than just an aesthetic exercise, although aesthetics are important; it is a whole understanding of the life-cycle of a product and the people who use it at each stage of the cycle. A product is important to those who make it, buy it, use it, repair it, and recycle it. Getting this degree is just the first chapter in my story, the rest of the story is yet to be written.

TarraBot
The TerraBot is an exploration of the future of lawn care. Utilizing solar cells and an innovative transforming mower deck, the TerraBot can stay out longer, handle rougher terrain, and tackle steeper slopes than existing autonomous mowers.
TerraBot Details
To tackle hills easier, the lower deck of the mower is able to transform and alter the center of gravity to improve traction. To stay out longer, the upper surfaces are covered in solar panels which constantly recharge the mower while it is on the move.
Glo Grill
The Glo Grill is cooking, but on your terms. A submission to the IHA Design Competition, this grill presents a unique approach to grill cleaning.
Glo Grill
After much research and experimentation, an idea was settled upon that allowed the flame to meet the food while simultaneously catching drippings and debris that would normally be forgotten about in the bowels of the grill where they present a very real fire hazard. Making a grill which is easier to clean allows people to spend more time with family and less time cleaning up.
Suspended Momentum
This cherry desk is supported by two bent lamination staggered aprons that run the length of the desk.
Top can be removed from the base and legs fold up so that you can easily store or move the desk. It is able to
be transported and moved by one person. The challenge with this project was to update traditional campaign furniture function with a new aesthetic that connects with the modem era.
Field Mouse
The Field Mouse makes working in rough environments easier. After interviewing many people, a discovery was made that people working in environments which required the use of gloves could not use touchscreens or track-pads. The mice they were forced to use were not optimized for use with gloves or the harsh environments they were in. The field mouse is a Waterproof, chemical, and dust resistant mouse that takes the use and abuse demanded by operators on the jobsite or the machine shop.
