Belvedere Mercury7
[1]The second model, the Mercury7 Belvedere is based on some of the pre-war
models of the late thirties. At this time, manufacturers such as RCA were
producing some very high-end televisions appealing to the most discerning
of consumers. Although this model does not replicate any specific
television of that era I must confess that this model does put me in the
sentimental penalty box in the game of modernism.
[3]Apart from the electronics this set is manufactured entirely in-house. Although the
construction of this TV is mainly traditional woodworking there are some
special fitted parts required such as the safety glass assembly and
thermally formed screen mask.

[2]My intentions for the Belvedere were strictly to provide some familiarity with my market. A classic 21" screen floor model with all the features of a modern
television. The speaker panel below opens up to the VCR and video cassette
storage area. The bent acrylic panels on each side are rheostat controlled lights which
provide a little ambience and rest for the viewer's eyes.
