It is estimated that 1 in 7 couples have trouble getting pregnant or sustaining a pregnancy. Due to the inherent characteristics of fertility problems, women often test for pregnancy monthly. Despite the prevalence of fertility problems, current pregnancy tests on the market are single-use, which not only has environmental implications but also demands a costly investment from this user group.

Cycle is a reusable pregnancy test and fertility monitor. By combining fertility and pregnancy testing into one reusable device, it aims to reduce the cost and environmental implications imposed on women struggling to conceive when testing for pregnancy and fertility. Biodegradable pregnancy and ovulation strips can be inserted into the device for testing, these are ejected after use and the reusable cleaning strip can then be used to help clean the device.

Test results can be revealed on the device accounting for the emotional and sensitive aspects of the testing process. The Cycle app can provide insightful data based on the fertility and pregnancy results, informing users when is best to try and conceive and when is best to test for pregnancy, so to reduce the unsustainable behaviours associated with this user group. Emotional support is also provided based on your results.
