We use elastic bands for all sorts of things, but we were amazed to discover just how useful they are for connecting and holding parts together. As the name implies, the 'Tension' collection uses the tension in silicone elastics to connect the parts of the stainless steel mirror, the Plexiglas and brass desk lamp and the anodized aluminum pencil case.

The elastic band acts as the centerpiece of each product, defining its look and strengthening the identity of the whole collection. Remove the elastic and the parts can be stored or shipped as a flatpack.

The Tension collection was released during Dutch Design Week 2018 as part of the Design Academy Graduation Show at De Campina Eindhoven.
