The chef's knife roll is a bag that combines the aesthetic and durable necessities of a professional chef's knife bag. The reality is that the current knife rolls on the market either celebrate aesthetic value or durability, but rarely both. The purpose of designing Coltello is to present a much needed solution to this gap in the market.

Coltello is a knife roll that was created during the spring semester of my sophomore year, as part of a research project on chef knives. I initially researched the different types of knives that chefs require and then moved further to research the way these chef's transport their tools. I focused on chefs who work in multiple kitchens and have to consistently travel with their knives.

Through all my research, what stood out most was the importance of a chef to have their own, personalized knives. They take great pride in their tools to create their art. As a result, this knife roll will allow chefs to safely transfer their tools to and from the kitchen—in style, of course.
