Pencil Note is a notebook with a very simple polycarbonate cover that can house almost any full-sized pencil. The vacuum formed bulge on the cover provides enough space to tightly secure the pencil. Its shape also makes sure the pencil can be easily removed.

Unlike most pens, pencils do not have a clips, which makes them very annoying to carry around with you. People often put pencils in their pockets or just carry them by hand. Pencil Note is a simple design that solves problems for people who love to use pencils with their notebooks.
Pencil Note's cover is vacuum formed with polycarbonate and then polished to a frost finish. This creates a vague and foggy silhouette of the pencil inside. It subtly tells the user how much the pencil has been used.
Every fillet, curve and wall thickness was carefully adjusted to make sure different kinds of pencils can be effortlessly put in and taken out. The bulge's placement was also designed to be a bit off-cantered so the notebooks can be stacked.

What happens when you write on the back side of a page and need a flat surface to write on??You have a hump there and will not be able to use the left side of the page in your notebook...I guess he did not think that part of the design through. If he is frustrated now, think of how frustrated he will be when he only can use half of his notebook. What about a pencil sharpener. you still need to have that with this concept. What about a finger hole to get the pencil out for fat fingered people? what if you don't use a pencil?? I have some issues with this concept, it's a good start but still needs a lot of work.
I agree on all your points
