The Aluminum Heatsink Laptop Stand is a laptop stand that can reduce your laptop's heat while improving ergonomics silently. By utilizing aluminum's amazing material attributes, the laptop stand acts as a passive heatsink and dissipates heat into the air without the use of fans or power.

The Aluminum Heatsink Laptop Stand is a laptop stand that can reduce your laptop's heat while improving ergonomics quietly. We spend long hours at our desks, sitting in front of our computer. Depending on work environment, you may be using a desktop or laptop. While laptop has the freedom of portability, it doesn't support healthy ergonomics for the user, not to mention the long working hours.
Just by angling your laptop slightly, it's ergonomics improve dramatically. It reduces pain within your wrist and neck while creating better airflow for your laptop. There's a certain beauty within an analog designed object that can't be replaced by software. Simply place your laptop on the laptop stand and it'll do the rest for you, automatically and instantly.
By utilizing aluminum's unique material properties, the design is accentuated, while keeping it simple and subtle. Aluminum has amazing material properties and can be recycled infinitely. The laptop stand acts as a passive heatsink and dissipates heat into the air without the use of fans or power.

It's a lovely chuck of metal, but I don't think you do yourself any favors by saying nonsense like "Aluminum is honest".
Yeah... I think it's more about style, rather than its fancy description about ergonomic and cooling efficiency...
Extend some of the surface where the laptop sits so it touches as much as possible under it. I wonder if there is a soft material that could transfer heat so you don't scratch your laptop. I don't think u want ArticSilver (thermal paste)rubbing on your device like Bengay on joints ^^ but for the sake of numbers u should try and see if it makes a difference in temperature.
It is an interesting experiment of material use, one word sculptural! good job. The problem can also be solved in the long run from the laptop itself using less energy or cooling in a more efficient way internally. Apple ?
Cheers!
How will the heat transfer from macbook to stand? The little plastic feet in the bottom are made to insulate the computer from the support surface.
Without some kind of thermal bridge, and considering heat goes upwards, I don't think that such huge chunk of aluminum will serve it's purpose.
Probably an easy fix though, and sure looks pretty!
As one can tell from the last picture, the plate sits in-between the rubber feet.
i like the look, but does it come with a carrying case so that it does not damage other items in a backpack/briefcase?
have the fins been optimized for natural convection? (there is a minimum requirement for spacing)
Is the front edge in full contact with table top? if so, how does it affect air circulation?
