Bambleu is a 4-in-1 folding bamboo cutting board which is great for compact storage in small kitchens, easy pouring into pans, crushing of garlic or shallots for easy peeling and the flexibility to use a small or large cutting board in one.
James Stumpf
Bambleu was created by industrial designer James Stumpf to solve the issue of storing large cutting boards in small kitchens and creating an elegant solution for pouring chopped ingredients into a hot pan.
Bambleu is also great for peeling garlic or shallots: simply place the clove of garlic between the two board halves and crush. Bambleu makes for a much safer alternative than crushing garlic with a knife blade.
While bamboo cutting boards are great for extending the life of knifes, they are often constructed of cheap, thin bamboo and typically crack or warp shortly after purchase. Bambleu is engineered to last a lifetime and is constructed of premium 3/4" thick formaldehyde-free bamboo, heavy-duty stainless steel hinges, riveted construction and stainless steel screws. When the time does come to take the cutting board out of service, the hinges/screws are 100% recyclable and the bamboo is biodegradable, making Bambleu a truly sustainable and eco-friendly kitchen utensil.

I understand the comments of the other users, but how do you think their concerns could be addressed?
I am afraid there is no problem to solve here in the first place. Instead you have created new ones.
Here are some of the caveats:
1. Designed for dry ingredients only
2. Slit looks notorious for pinches, cuts and plain squashing of fingers
3. Hinge is jutting out which means it will not to stand/lie flat unless you fold it - waste of space
4. No trench to hold back liquids
5. Slit will leak liquids everywhere
I don't think that this is a great idea. This is yet another sharp object in the kitchen that adds to the danger. One would do without it.
