The will and the enthusiasm that we put in mechanical planning within the realm of design have encouraged us to study, develop and give life to a new project: a powerful, compact, and easy CNC Mill, different from all the other problematic, heavy and expensive machines.

Evo-One CNC can be easily used by anyone: a hobbyist, a maker, a fab lab or a company. Thanks to its ease of use and to its polymethyl methacrylate covering you can use it inside any room, in your garage or in your office with no filth or dust coming out of the machine during the process and with a considerable reduction of noise.

Evo-One is a 3D and 2.5D milling machine. With your own project you can engrave, carve and cut very complex shapes with a micron precision on different types of materials like wood, plastic, metal and many others. You can give life to your ideas in just three steps:

Development

We have collected lots of feedback from users in order to understand what was missing in the CNC desktops currently on the marketplace. We have noticed that some of the main problems are too small work areas, manufacturing speed and a spindle with limited power. We have been able to eliminate these issues that made the previous CNC mills difficult to use. Our work area is the biggest now available on a desktop CNC mill at 370 x 220 x1 20 h mm. This dimension has been studied and optimized in order to give you the chance to produce very big parts included in most of the working processes.

One of the most worked aspects has been the achievement of a resistant structure, totally made of aluminium that gave stability and rigidity, with the aim of obtaining the best finishing from the making. The main flaw of CNC mill desktops today is the limited number of the spindle's rotations, that goes from 2000 to 12000rpm. This value doesn't permit to mill a large number of materials and negatively affects the speed of cut, not allowing to have rapid movements and clear cuts.

The spindle has been projected starting from scratch and before we found the safest and more accurate solution, we realized 9 prototypes. The inner part is made of one only aluminium block upon which the spindle is supported by 5 ball bearings connected to a brushless motor that goes from 3000 to 22000rpm and allows the milling for every kind of material or surface. The whole structure is contained in a carter with a cooling fan for the upper part, a speed controller and some LEDs that perfectly illuminate the work area. The spindle with the ER11M chuck can support mills from 1 to 7 mm.

Design

We have drawn plenty of sketches, a lot of rendering and we have produced 3 real prototypes in order to get to the shape we wanted. Going against every trend, we have removed the parts made with plastic moulds and we have chosen a green line by using a perfect combination of aluminium and wood and with an aesthetically minimal line. In order to make this CNC mill Desktop usable everywhere, we have closed it laterally with durmast's wood panels upon which we have applied some aluminium details. The CNC mill is provided with a shell that can be opened to avoid a dispersion of filth and to render it safe for children too.
