Softech'ture: Rethinking Fabric Waste by NextOfKin Creatives and Mobella Galleria explores transforming discarded textiles into functional homeware. Addressing the 45% fabric waste from production, the project repurposes textile offcuts into modular Link Lamps and sculptural Floral Vases through shredding, molding, and compression. Softech'ture champions circularity, showcasing how upcycled materials can shape a more sustainable future in contemporary design.

Softech'ture: Rethinking Fabric Waste is an innovative project by NextOfKin Creatives in collaboration with Mobella Galleria, a notable furniture design store in Bangkok, Thailand. This initiative explores how discarded textiles can be deconstructed to reconstruct into functional and aesthetic homeware. With nearly 45% of fabric offcuts wasted during production, Softech'ture embraces designing for responsible living by transforming textile waste into purposeful objects.
Through a meticulous process of shredding, molding, and compression, the team repurposes textile waste into modular Link Lamps and sculptural Floral Vases. By integrating 3D-printed molds, the project merges traditional craftsmanship with modern fabrication, showcasing the potential of upcycled materials in contemporary design.
Beyond waste reduction, Softech'ture champions circularity, proving that discarded materials can be reimagined into compelling, functional pieces. As sustainability takes center stage in design, this project exemplifies how innovation and conscious material reuse can shape a more responsible future for living spaces.
