Recycling is known to be very confusing, and large amounts of recyclable waste can be ruined even after a small amount of contamination. The Smart Bin was created as a solution to help make the sorting of the different kinds of trash easier and more accurate. The user simply states what they are tossing, and the Smart Bin will open the correct bin for disposal. Various prototypes are currently being tested in the streets of Asia.
