Design and development of a smart medical capsule designed specifically for the transport of blood, organs and other medical products by drone.
ABzero is an innovative spin-off of BioRobotica Institute of the Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna which has created an intelligent capsule for the delivery of blood, organs, medicine, swabs and other medical products by drone. This innovative system allows medical staff to use technology in a simple and efficient way in compliance with regulations, ensuring the preservation of the transported goods through automatic and safe delivery.
Our industrial design agency supported the innovative start-up in the definition and development of the capsule, including integration of electronics and compatibility with drones. The consultancy went beyond the design because we also took care of creating prototypes for validation and flight tests. The design was conceived for a realisation of the capsule in foam material that offers the advantages of having a robust structure while being light and isothermal.
