I don't know that I'd carry it with me, but I like the compact size and oil-proof container that allows you to. I'm also digging how simple it looks to load and use.

The cool thing about oil is it always stays exactly where you put it. There's literally no way for it to warm up, migrate all over that plastic donut and seep out of the container it's in while it's jostling around in someone's bag or pocket. You definitely couldn't get the same result from sticking a rag in a Ziploc container.
It's an exciting idea; however, I'm not sure how much of an issue it solves, though. I think this is mostly relevant for people that don't ride their bikes often and subsequently deal with corrosion more than actual wear from use on a drive train. The main objective when lubing a chain is to get lube down to the rollers inside the chain to prevent wear. I don't know if the disc applies enough liquid for it to flow into place. Also, when you use enough lubricant to a chain, you will need to wipe it down. Otherwise, you make it attract dirt and other abrasives that wear out your chain even quicker.
I keep seeing this and keep thinking 'cute' but I don't see it solving much of a problem. The video shows a common problem of folks just blasting their chain with lube so I suppose its better than that I guess. The Calvin Jones method is best: rotate the chain and one drop per link then wipe away excess. It probably just about a minute to do vs the few seconds to use this but the benefits are greater. Its free compared to purchasing a separate applicator to the lube itself, and the maintenance will last longer. The proper method ensures a cleaner chain by wiping away dirt and removing extra lube on the outside of the links that may attract dirt. Its a product for people who are unwilling to learn or listen and want a shortcut to save them maaaybe 12 minutes a year. All I can hope for is this is a gateway drug for folks realizing how their bike should perform with a properly lubed chain.
I've lubed a bike chain once in 41 years on planet earth. I still have the bottle of oil too. What a waste of $21.
