Core77 is a non-partisan rag, but when McMansion Hell's Kate Wagner goes after Betsy DeVos' 22,000-square-foot summer home, we can't not cover it. Because it's freaking funny.

"Two weeks ago, somebody untied Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos's $40 million yacht from its mooring," Wagner wrote in Vox. "It got me thinking about another opulent display of wealth owned by DeVos: her 22,000-square-foot nautical-themed summer mansion, located in Holland, Michigan. Just a few more years of climate change and it'll be floating too."

Rain, Your liberal bias and blowhard comments are neither refreshing nor clever. If you're so upset about someone having a big home, why aren't you aiming your snide comments at liberal democrats, too.

They will instead be moving into a $6 million, 8,200-square foot, 9-bedroom 12-bathroom mansion in
Kalorama, one of the Washington District's most posh, desirable and exclusive neighborhoods in the heart of one of America's wealthiest zip codes. With daughter Malia off to college, that leaves just Barack, Michelle and Sasha until the younger daughter graduates high school in 2018."

Get off your "holier than thou" horse and grow up.

  Fred, your response is a typical defensive right wing response. The negative connotation to Betsy DeVoe isn’t her money, she comes from wealth and married into wealth. There are very few politicians that come from humble beginnings. A politician with money is no surprise to anyone, do you think they do it to change the world?
  Her family has a background of nefarious businesses like a Amway the pyramid scheme and Blackwater USA, a private contracted paramilitary. She has zero experience with public education, having attended private school all the way up in her educational life. Her husband and her run a “charity” that funds right-wing think tanks and conservative agendas. Before you go around barking statistics, remember the ones from the subject you’re defending.
