Everyday Carry remains a hot product category, and aspiring design entrepreneurs among you should note that multitools and knives are what will enable you to get your foot in the door. The latest offering in the latter category is the Everyday Blade, a diminutive gizmo that takes standard No. 11 (i.e. X-Acto) blades:
It seems more useful for studio-roaming RISD sophomores rather than Montana militiamen looking to secure the compound, but I can't deny that the design is well-considered, from the dial interface to the take-anywhere size.
It's anyone's guess as to whether the Everyday Blade will cross the Kickstarter finish line. At press time they had $16,629 in pledges on a $25,000 goal, with 36 days left in the campaign.

Love the image that shows the knife in anairplane , like, "It looks like a keychain. You can easily smuggle it through the airport security."
Yeh, targeting the highjacked community I guess. After all, who could do any precision model making through airplane turbulence?!
In the video, it shows them eject the blade into the trash. So you can dispose of the x-acto blade before TSA but keep the blade housing so you don't ever have to worry about TSA throwing your keychain knife housing.
It's not meant to encourage bringing blades on a plane.
The project completed successfully, everything's been shipped. @Kyle Wolfe & @Mike Cheung, they tweaked the design to hide the blade behind a belt clip.
Thank you for featuring our project Rain! The great thing about the Everyday Blade is you can easily remove the blade and turn your pocket knife into a harmless keychain you can travel with. When you land, just put in a new blade and get back to your precision model making or opening boxes. Check out our pocket clip stretch goal that covers the view port for a care free everyday carry.
Not protected enough for me either. I want it completely hidden unless I am using it.
I would definitely figure out a way to get a pinkie tip into that open area...kinda kills it for me.
