Eric Strebel's getting into some serious ID modelmaking secret sauce here. Painting a model or prototype is where things can go to hell pretty quickly, unless you've got a good system down. So check out Strebel's blend of herbs and spices, covering surface prep, fixing errors, a clever trick for using your object to make a sanding block, how to avoid spotting, what to use, what not to use and more.
This is an information-dense, technique-rich, very useful vid!

i appreciate these videos as a great introduction into model making and finishing and i'd like to add a couple tips i've found over the years.
Excellent ideas, the painters tape would have been a great thing to add!
Any way to avoid that Montana can splatter seen in the black test strips?
Clean tips help.. Acetone removes old paint. Montana also sells a can full of just Acetone.. since they clog so much, I'm looking at getting a can to spray thru after each use just to keep them clean.
I used a bit of denatured alcohol to clean the tip between coats and that worked for me. Lacquer thinner may be needed on more stubborn nozzles.
