Having people over for the holidays? Maybe you can step up your hosting game with some designey table settings. First off, here are the three levels of proper table settings:

I poked around to find some designey-looking place settings, and decorating firm Ballard Designs has got some pro-level stuff. They're mixing and matching some common components here, but always manage to make it look fresh:

Great post but why can't the position be changed? Most are right handed, the fork is the utensil used the more than others and people will usually use the knife in the left hand to cut. Primary on the right, ancillary on the left.
