As U.S. office workers get fatter and fatter, scientists have been searching for a solution (because apparently eating less food, eating healthier food, or making a regular effort to exercise is simply out of the question). Here's what they've come up with: Walking Workstations. Researchers James Levine and Jennifer Miller found that by working at a standing desk while walking on a treadmill, workers could theoretically lose 44 to 66 pounds a year.
