This December, Polk Audio rolls out their Signature Series of speakers, aiming to "bring the big surround sound theater and music experience into the comfort of your living room." Props on incorporating that big radius at the top corners of the cabinet. Looks like a nice family of products; the little satellite is quite cute. Only design comment might be the logo placement on the smaller tower is 'floating' vs the rather more consistent applications on the other products.
Thanks Sean! The large radius was a challenge to get through to production as you could imagine. It required a slightly different manufacturing process than we typically do which allowed for running the grain apparently seamlessly (though it seams at the ports essentially). lot of people prefer grilles on for various reasons. Some of the most common we hear are in our research are spouse likes it better and protection from kids and pets. The little satellite is kind of adorable. :-)
I love design like this.
Thanks Ray, it is a fun category to work in. A lot of the super high end product is very expressive, but at the more affordable end of the market a lot of product is just a utilitarian black box. It was fun to bring a bit more of the thinking used in in our higher end product and work in harmony (puntatic) with our acoustic engineers to ground all of the design stories in function.
Wow so much marketing BS in one video, I'm impressed.
