Designer Robert Van Embricqs first caught our eye a few years ago for his unique take on flatpack furniture. Back then it was all still photos; now, as he's gained acclaimed and traveled the world showing his pieces at one festival after another, he's added some much-needed video demonstrating his pieces in all of their kinetic glory. Imagine if Ikea stuff was as easy to "assemble" as his Rising Side Table:

His Rising Chair, which we now get to see in motion, requires no fasteners for final assembly at all:

His Rising Table is, amazingly, made from a single sheet of laminated bamboo plywood:

The hinge manufacturer's got to love this guy!

Van Embricqs, by the way, is not limiting his imagination to just furniture. He's also envisioned a nifty, if challenging to execute, concept for a pop-up marketplace that literally pops up:
