For those of you who have grown tired of sifting through countless newsletters to find out the local events in architecture and design, today's launch of the New York Architecture Diary will come as great news!
The Diary is the latest addition to the collective Architecture Diary Network, joining its sister site the London Architecture Diary which has been actively publishing for 10 years now. "With the world getting smaller every day, the new Architecture Diary Network represents the close ties between London and New York as two global capitals of architectural practice, academia and culture, explains Editor-In-Chief Elias Redstone, "the websites offer visitors and residents an insider's view of each city's diverse and vibrant architecture scenes." The site—designed by Pipers Design and managed by a consortium of institutions and schools of architecture—will post a full range of diverse architectural programming as well as a monthly list of recommended events and exhibitions selected by guest editors. In the long term, the site "will not only help people zero in on specific events and exhibitions to attend, but will also give an overall picture of the extraordinary breadth and depth and vitality of architecture culture in New York," says Rosalie Genevro, Executive Director of The Architectural League of New York.
