This is how they've done it for thousands of years, but in the past few decades, Mahjong tile shuffling and dealing has received a rather awesome upgrade:

You've undoubtedly noticed in the first vid that they start off with sky-blue tiles, and the next set dealt is yellow; that's because the table stores a ready-to-go second set beneath the surface while the first game is being played up top. But you've also probably spotted that the tiles are thrown into the bin willy-nilly, yet the elevators bring them all up face-down. Here's how it works:
