The Canadiano: Wooden You Like to Brew Some Coffee?

The Canadiano is freaking awesome. It's a single-serving coffee brewing device, for those of us who live alone, or those of you who live with other people but enjoy being selfish, and it's made out of wood.

Or one of three woods, specifically. You can order the Canadiano in Cherry, Walnut or Maple, and while we're not sure if this part is true or just hooey, the manufacturer claims that "the wooden piece will remember each cup of coffee you make."

Overtime the coffee oils of your specific beans and roast will be absorbed into the wood and be a part of your morning coffee experience... Each type of wood is matched with different beans and roasts from around the world. We encourage brewing single origin beans in the Canadianos. The Walnut edition is crafted and designed for use with darker roasts and earthier flavors such as beans from South East Asia. Maple and Cherry is designed for beans with slight citrus hints and nutty taste.

An integrated and replaceable metal filter, by the way, takes care of the grinds.

Do not buy this product! I ordered one with coffee and they never sent it. Two weeks later I e-mailed them asked about the status of my order. A week after that I got a reply where I was accused of putting it "on hold" during checkout and told that I should use a different e-mail address (than the one that appears on their website) if I want faster responses. Never was an apology or any regret or empathy given buy the customer service contact who said that they're not a big company so they can't have quality customer service. After some back and forth he abruptly cancelled my order and had my Paypal payment returned. So much a pleasant buying experience. You've been warned! Now I still have to buy a mother's day present!

NO. I was with you until the uber-hipster part about the beans and the wood responding. That is some straight up stupid marketing BS. dont care if its real or proven or whatever, its the dumbest thing ive read today. stupid idiots would buy it for that reason, dont be an idiot.

I'll say BS for this one, Rain...I can't see any advantage for using wood; It will get impregnated with old coffee smell and mold very quickly...It surely will compromise the taste of your coffee after a while.

Sure, it looks cool, I admit it. However, you can buy a 2 cup Moka pot for a fraction of this price, which will certainly make a much better coffee.
