A New Secret Drawer Mechanism from Brian Grabski

I'd like to get Brian Grabski, he of the hidden drawers, in a room together with Matthias Wandel, the woodworking mad scientist. Grabski's got a new hidden drawer ready, and while his videos are nowhere near as clear, explanatory and well-edited as Wandel's, I'd rather see too-brief footage of Grabski's work than none at all. Take a look at the crazy wooden lock mechanism revealed in the second half of the vid:

love this ,i am going to build a coffee table ,with hidden drawer,still trying to figure out ,lock,an latch. It will be deep enough for two long rifles an two pistols.any suggestions

Well done! A little complex, although I was hoping for more mysterious mechs in different drawers, maybe with Indiana Jones-like consequences for going in the wrong order.

Cool! But, can't you just take out the bottom drawer to access the hidden drawer?

And to think it could have been as simple as a touch latch on the hidden drawer.
