  We just picked up a box for Gloom, a card-based game that uses something similar. It has the cool added benefit that when cards are played on top of each other, they may or may not cover up certain portions of the card below, affecting that stack's overall value.

  I've had a variation of these for years. Since they're plastic, they always retain their feel and 'snap', but the cards are harder to read at a glance, and they are much harder to collect from a pile by sliding them together into a stack. Beveled edges would help a bit here, but really the main benefit is their durability. Great cards for games where you might have beverages around that could spill.
  
  I'd really like it if they would make the numbers much bigger. Sure it'd lose a bit of the aesthetic, but you wouldn't have to squint so much. This is about the only instance I find myself actually wanting 'jumbo' versions, haha.
