Papelote began as Katerina Sachova's graduate design project to create paper goods using high quality, natural materials, but it soon grew into a larger business with a store in Prague and a stable distribution network in the Czech Republic. All the products are made from recycled paper, 100% wool felt and 100% cotton, and Sachova's dedication to considered production as well as aesthetics was recently recognized by The Academy of Czech Grand Design, which awarded Papelote's store/workshop Store of the Year.
Papelote's line of notebooks, pouches and desk accessories bright, beautiful, affordable and now customizable. Companies can order Papelote products with their logo for client gifts or promos. The felt and fabric items can even be embroidered with your name or slogan. Sachova also offers Pape.lab for Czech locals, a roving studio for schools, companies, non-profits, festivals, galleries and stores "or enlightened individuals who put an emphasis on the originality and aesthetic value of their stationary products."
While I would happily emblazon my letterhead on any of Sachova's items, I particularly love the wool felt Musko series of pouches, portfolio covers and roll-up pencil cases. Her limited edition line features covers in stripes and polka dots, and her notebooks are equipped with built-in rubber bands to organize tear-outs and extra bits of paper. As someone who can't walk out of a stationary store without at least buying a pen, I suppose I should be thankful that Sachova doesn't have an online shop to tempt me, but at the rate she's going it's only a matter of time. Larger international orders can still be filled by contacting her directly.
