Good design has an element of magic to it. And for his Hide&Seek Illusion chest, Florent Coirier drew his inspiration from, well, the world of magic.
The Paris-based designer observed the classic magician's chest, whereby a mirror angled at 45 degrees gives you the impression that his assistant or your personal belongings have disappeared into thin air. In actuality, of course, those things are simply stored in the top-rear half of the object; Coirier's table, meant to serve as a bedside chest, makes this obvious by providing a handy lid at the top. It's easier than having to spin the cabinet 'round every time you want to access your bedtime reading.
"There's always room for beauty in the world of magic!"
