Your typical adjustable camera or gear bag uses padded, removeable sections that you affix to a matrix by means of velcro. It sounds great in theory, but is horrible to use in practice; the velcro has a tendency to stick when you're trying to adjust or remove it, quickly turning your reconfiguration into a laborious chore.
A Denver-based startup called TrekPak has designed a better system of user-configurable gear protection. TrekPak's velcro-free padded sections use simple U-shaped pins and exposed sidewalls as connection points:
As the system is designed to be dropped into an existing bag, it brings to mind the purse organizers we wrote about earlier, with the added benefit of user-determined layout.
It looks like this will be successfully Kickstarted, as at press time they were at $13,300 of a $15,000 target with nearly a month to go. But one question we have: Do you think overzealous TSA employees who seemingly love to give people a hard time will find those pins look too weaponish in an X-ray machine?

I get the parts from the hardware- and craftstore, for the binders i use simple hairclips.
And instead of fabric i use the much cheaper craftfoam and spongy stuff like a yoga mat. I fixed both with spray adhesive.
I cut out little stripes of the inner site of the corners to fold it easier.
For the inner parts i use alumium- or strong plastik tape to make it much stronger (because of the hair clips).
i spent 10 Euros (material cost) for this.
I like the the concept really and i wish you good luck!!!!

Not sure if it is part fo the kit but some velcro sections you can pin on would be great so you can position them in a camera bag to stop it from moving around.
