Texas Armoring Corporation is a San-Antonio-based company that makes some bad-ass armored cars, like the ones pictured here. They use bullet-resistant materials for everything from the engine to the gas tank to the tires, as you can see here in their process explanation, with the goal being that the occupants can burn some rubber when the lead starts flying.
