Milanese designer Giorgio Bonaguro is pleased to present his award-winning "Tweety Lamp." Although the unabashedly simple design debuted earlier this year, it recently won the best lighting in the Professionals category at Salão Design 2011 for the Casa Brasil.
It's not rocket science... just good ol' fashioned design:This table lamp is created with a very simple and intuitive design; it starts with the two main parts needed to build a lamp: the the light and its body. We combine these elements, not with screws or joints but rather simply letting the bulb hang from its body, like a little sweet bird standing on its birdcage.
The materials used are eco-friendly polycarbonate (heat resistant up to 120°C); colored wire and energy A class 310 lm light bulb.
While I get the bird-in-a-cage allusion, I'm also seeing a compass or abstracted person—like a pawn from a chess set, perhaps—from the vaguely anthropomorphic form.
