Dexter from Stéphan Angoulvant on Vimeo.
I've been following Stephan's work since he started a blog about his experiences at Art Center a few years ago. He recently posted a great video of his Dexter Work Bench prototype in action. I love the straightforward honesty and timelessness of this design. Check out the full process HERE.

Actually ready to buy this.
incredible what a fresh mind can do to a simple creeper, where companies like craftsman or snap on fail to do a proper one
Thanks for the critique. I agree with your point entirely. The metal frame is a proof of concept for the locking mechanism which ideally would be implemented using stamped steel, which is far more cost-effective, lightweight and thin. Unfortunately this couldn't be built into the model because of the time and budget constraints of a student project.
Eliminate either the plywood or the metal frame. It will result in a simpler, lighter product. Hopefully helping to reduce height as well. A problem stated in the process but not addressed in the design. Otherwise another student project simply for styling purposes.
