Isreali designer Ronen Kadushin has been producing 2D cutouts for fabricating 3D objects, available for downloading, copying, producing and modifying through his Open Design project. The latest in this series is Kadushin's version of the piggy bank, a commentary on the current financial climate.
My version of a traditional product that had lost its practical and educational purposes, as small change can no longer buy anything worth saving for.
In this form, it is also a reflection of financial situation where saving is not a realistic possibility or is rather, an illusion.
The Piggybank is 1mm laser cut stainless steel. Other notable contributions to Kadushin's Open Design project include his "Italic Shelf," "Fold Table" as well as a series of steel chairs.
