London Design Festival 2010: Two's A Pair at the V&A Museum

Late Fridays at the V&A are always surprising and enjoyable—this month's event focused on designers who work in pairs. The evening was full of activities that explored interaction, two-ness and unexpected collaborations.

Two to Tango featured oversized spoons where visitors were encouraged to feed each other from giant pots of couscous, while a 'V&A' version of the memory game, Two's a Pair, took place in the dining hall, with prizes of specially commissioned artworks.

There was a screening of six short videos entitled 'Couples Design Counselling,' where couples who live and work together discuss the dynamics of juggling both roles. Finally, a very unlikely collaboration took place under the huge Chihuly in the Grand Hall: guests were serenaded as they left by champion beatboxer, Reeps 1, accompanying Callum Stewart on the pipes.

Alongside all of this was the private view of new work by Onkar Kular and Noam Toran—a collection of semi-mythological artifacts and stories entitled 'I Cling to Virtue.' Although most events and workshops were for one-night-only, 'I Cling to Virtue' continues until the 10th of October.
