Now even hairbrushes need batteries?

I've had a shaved head for most of my adult life, so I'm out-of-touch with haircare products in general. Even still, I never expected to see this symbol,

on a hairbrush.

What gives? I mean look at this thing:

Braun's Satin Hair brush uses something called Iontec, a "uniquely designed green ion jet [that] releases millions of satin ions proven effectively [sic] onto your hair. These satin ions immediately begin to reduce static and friction to instantly restore you [sic] hair's shine and smoothness."

Ions in your hair. Have any of you females actually used this product? If so please leave a comment, I'm curious as to whether this actually has any effect. (I've found ionated water to be quite effective for another product, but that description will have to wait until a forthcoming review of the Ionator is ready.)

Guys... a lot of girls use battery-power operated toys for masturbation, why would combing hair be any different?
Come to think about it, there's a hairy connection there... Braun should have included a scalpel masseur in the handle.

I know it seems ridiculous, like the Fusion razor with *5 blades and a battery,* which I bought and tried just because it sounded so ridiculous. The Fusion, however, actually did somehow give a great shave with minimal face slicing, due, I presume to battery powered vibrations and the arsenal of blades. Sadly, the blade cartridges are ridiculously expensive, but that little test taught me to be skeptical of my skepticism until experience weighs in.

i have an ionic hairdryer, and i will most likely be buying this hairbrush... i'll let you know when i find out.

The world talks about the need for change, the need to become more sustainable yet products like THIS are still being created. At a time when designers are meant to be leading the way Braun is stuck in the 20th century.

Although I am not a woman I have to say thay the Ion- brush actually is a "hit" within my family. After I gave one away as a present to my mother all of the women in my family do want one! And it actually does work! >> it's just simple Physics: The ions just neutralize static in your hair and thus your hair lays smooth and shiny. But it does not play any role that the " ion jet " is green (it's just some techi marketing-slang). And the green light is just a fancy effect as the ions themselves are invisable ;)

We have a dog brush that emits ions that my mom gave us a couple years ago. In this case the ions were supposed to deodorize. It was one of those things where you could convince yourself that it was working, but couldn't be sure. But the bristles weren't right for my dogs hair, she hates brushing, and the batteries ran out (might've left it on and didn't think it was worth putting new ones in) so I guess I didn't give it much of a chance.

Hairbrushes: now with electrolytes!

Gotta love pseudoscientific products. As a girl, why would I want to brush my hair with something that looks like an xbox?
