During a combined work and leisure trip through Asia, Core-contributor Brit Leissler visited a number of manufacturing centers in Vietnam, including Catdang Village, center of coiled bamboo manufacturing and lacquering, and Bát Tràng Ceramic Village, 13 km away from the Hanoi City Center, where, according to Leissler, "the kitschy ceramic figurines and vases that this planet is flooded with" are made.
