Ariete's steam iron safety feature: The pop-up

I often have mixed feelings about safety features designed into products; while safety is good, I feel it makes us increasingly less wary while using potentially dangerous products.

Nevertheless, I'd probably buy Italian manufacturer Ariete's auto-lift iron. The safety mechanism is both simple and ingenious: Once you let go of the grip, it automatically pops up on little feet, raising the ironing surface off of the fabric. Grab it again and it pops back down, ready to iron. Click here to see a little flash video of it in action.

You guys should really research these submissions for articles better as Oliso (I am quite certain) patented this mechanism/action a long time ago. Not to mention it looks like the design is a complete copy.
