Do you remember when Kate Bingaman (of Obsessive Consumption) was hand drawing her credit card statements then selling them to pay them off? Well, Christine and Justin of Wants For Sale are even more direct—they are painting the things they want and selling them for exactly the associated price tag. Pinkberry with banana & chocolate chips? $5.85. Financial Security? 1 million dollars. They really see it through too; you can find all the evidence of this, including their art-financed Las Vegas vacation, on their flickrstream. Posted most recently is the As Seen on TV series, pictured above, featuring the ShamWow!, Chia Pet, and Mighty Putty.
Though we appreciate their honesty, we're also glad that it's not all selfish. "Needs" are paintings that help fund charitable groups like NYC Cares and Habitat for Humanity. A fitting addendum to our Righteous Holiday Gift Guide, the collection can be seen and bought here. Pictured below is "A Good Meal," on sale for $100, benefitting the Food Bank For New York City.
