Here's an unusual barbecue cooking implement that fittingly comes from Asia. This mesh frying pan, by Japan's Noridomi Iron Works, was designed to allow you to cook rice and noodles over an open flame.
While you could do this with a skillet or wok, this mesh design permits the flavors of the wood smoke to directly permeate the food.
The mesh is stainless steel, and the pan comes in two sizes: A Small at 21cm x 38cm (8.3" x 15"), and a Large at 32cm x 48cm (12.3" x 18.9"). They run ¥17,820 (USD $119) and ¥21,450 (USD $144) respectively.
