This Rapid 50 object was invented by Australian industrial designer German Anchique:
It may not look like much, but here's what it does:
Anchique reckons that not having to swap from drill to driver allows you to finish the job in half the time.
At present he's only selling them in 3/16" (5mm) diameter, though you can choose between a Philips or Pozi tip. They run USD $19.50.

Look how hard he is having to push to drill the hole.
Not feeing it…
What happens if you strip the head of the screw?
Then you stop using philips screws and switch to a good design of screw drive :)
Good idea but what happen when you have Robertson bits or even better Torx which are my favourite ones? Also,, they are very expensive. I rather use the Zack Rabbit. Far more versatile.
A solution looking for a problem? Nice idea, though. Keep working!
...but you drill the hole with the drill and then drive the screw with the impact driver, because it's *enormously* more effective at driving screws than a drill or even a hammer drill - the mechanism has been designed for that. That's why when you go to buy a battery powered drill, it's very often sold in a pack of two tools - a drill/driver and an impact driver.
And it's as fast as using this drill bit, if not faster because while you have to reach to your toolbelt for the impact driver, it drives so much faster than the drill that it more than makes up for the time.
