…is a universal vise for holding diminutive workpieces.
They're used by watchmakers to hold movements in place while they're being worked on.

I couldn't find any examples from reputable manufacturers. (These are being flogged on AliExpress for $110).

I have a simpler jeweler's pin vise I got years ago from Lee Valley:

Fewer pins means it can't fit on all sides, but the wider jaws are handy.
