A No-Handle Coffee Mug for Rock Climbers
When bad UX is the point
British design collective Ma3t designed this amusing Pinch Hold Mug. It very purposefully lacks a handle, as it's targeted at rock climbers.
"With a Pinch Hold Mug, even when your relaxing with a cuppa, you'll be getting a little bit stronger."
"These first editions are not graded for difficulty, but designed to be lifted by anyone though still require a good pinch and therefore build strength. Obviously, enjoying a hot drink from one means you don't want to let go, so take care during this climbing exercise."
They run £35 (USD $45) a pop.

best part is, he'll sell the same product to the same people over and over and over, due to them losing grip and drop/smashing it. that's the ingenious part of the design.

I can hear the mbulance-chaser lawyers rubbing their hands together in anticipation of scalding suits.
Not unless everybody is trying to drink their coffee one degree below boiling, or if the mug company tries to offer meal coupons in lieu of medical treatment costs.
