Here's a simple, clever, useful and versatile product design. The Pitch Hopper was designed to make life easier for roofers. It's essentially just a standalone step, trapezoidal in cross-section, that can be used to provide a level stepping or kneeling surface on various roof pitches. The foam base clings securely to roof tiles once weight is applied.
Handles on the side make it easy to pick up, and it's light enough for a child to carry.

A lighter-colored version, which looks to be made of EPS (the manufacturer doesn't say) is meant for sunnier regions; it won't heat up like the black units do.
These come in 24" and 32" widths, and run $104 to $133 apiece depending on which material and width you choose.

This is great if it makes one of the most dangerous occupations safer. My spouse sees a lot of roofing injuries in the hospital. But it will need to make workers more productive in order to get their bosses to buy it.
Easy: three per two workers, unit in the center is the staging point that a runner can keep loaded with shingles so the people using them don't have to go up and down ladders (another safety benefit of the setup).
