I suppose we'd better start calling it something else. Engadget managed to get their hands on some spy shots of Amazon's upcoming large-format Kindle, apparently taken from a dry run of a press presentation slated for tomorrow. Assuming Blurry Shot #3 is a side-by-side comparison of Kindle 2 and B.A. Kindle, as you can see it's a good deal larger--approximated to be nearly 10 inches.
It will be interesting to see how this device pans out. The NY Times will apparently be offering subscriptions for their content on it, and most interestingly, students at Case Western Reserve University (and possibly more schools) "are being issued the new, larger screen Kindles...in the fall semester with pre-installed textbooks for chemistry, computer science and a freshman seminar." I guess the days of the Lettermen carrying girls' textbooks to class are over...oh wait a sec, they were over like, years ago. Sorry, I'm getting old.
