Two years ago, a New York county held a contest, among teenagers, to design an "I Voted" sticker. The winner was 14-year-old Hudson Rowan, who penned this gem:
At the time, we wrote that Rowan's entry "accurately depicts what it currently feels like to participate in democracy."
This year the Michigan Department of State held a similar contest. Some 57,000 votes came in, with the most being cast for this image, by 12-year-old Jane Hynous:
The implication is perhaps that voting causes lycanthropy. Hynous is vague about the inspiration: "It kind of just came to me," she told the Times, before letting on that she also intended to subvert expectations. "I didn't want to do something that usually you think of when you think of Michigan."
Hynous' entry, which was submitted in the Elementary and Middle School category, garnered more votes than even the entries from the adult category.
Happy Election Season!
