Sculpture student Daniel Morgan is a get-things-done kind of guy. While visiting Africa as part of the Sports Ministry Outreach, a program dedicated to building sustainable villages in Africa, Morgan identified a problem he figured he could solve:
One day, while making bricks with some locals, he noticed how difficult it was to mix the damp dirt and cement with only plows and shovels. He realized that a mixer would make a huge difference.
A junior at James Madison University at the time, Morgan enrolled in an industrial design class upon his return and set himself a clear task: He was going to design a cement mixer. Then he was actually going to get it built. Then he was going to get it shipped the 7,000 miles to Uganda.
Believe it or not, he did it. Read the full story here.
