A company called Exod has developed this Air Station Pod-01, an inflatable shelter. Packed, it weighs 18.7 pounds and is about the size of a large duffel bag. Deployed, it provides roughly 45 square feet of interior space, though it's not tall enough to stand in (unless you're 5' or shorter).
"The design of the POD-01 is based on a revolutionary inflatable skeleton, utilizing the cutting-edge technologies of kite-surf wings. This choice of material is strategic: kite-surf wings have proven their effectiveness and robustness in the most extreme conditions."
"Under violent wind storms, during intense impacts, or in constant contact with abrasive sand and saltwater, these inflatable structures demonstrate exceptional durability and resistance."
When there isn't a storm, the structure's walls can be rolled up, for an open-air vibe.
Perhaps most impressively, the company claims it can be deployed, using the included hand pump, in just five minutes. "The structure of the POD-01 becomes incredibly hard and rigid at just 0.5 bar (7 PSI) of pressure." They say, and show, that it can be broken down in the same amount of time:
These are expected to retail for $2,800, but the company is currently offering pre-orders at $1,899. They say they'll ship at the end of this year.
