An eyewear company called Chamelo has developed electrochromic sunglasses that can instantly change tint level or color. Check out their Dusk model:
Their tint-adjustable Music Shield (so named because it has built-in speakers):
Their color-changing Euphoria model can cycle through four different warm hues:
And finally their Aura model, which can cycle through four cooler hues:
The company says their patented Prismatic Color-Changing Lenses are a world first.
The innovation doesn't come cheap. The Dusk and Music Shield models run $249, while the Euphoria and Aura are $385.

Great idea. They should farm out the frame design though. Not hot on the frames.
Don't know if you wear glasses, but those prices aren't too far off from a pair of slightly trendy frames and good lens.
Not seeing any description of the tech. I'm guessing some sort of iridescence via voltage controlled LCD.
These sunglasses require charging. From their website:
I found some info on them: https://www.allaboutvision.com/lenses/photochromic.htm
No mention of electronically-controlled colour changing lenses in this link, just mention of traditional UV reactive lenses and of rarer visible light reactive lenses.
This is new? People were wearing glasses that had changing tint levels way back in the 90s.
Yes, these are new - 1, they change through a selection of hues, not just getting darker, 2, the hue is controlled by the user through an electronic interface (these Chamelo sunglasses have a 220 mAh battery in the frames). This is contrast to the traditional UV-reactive lenses which get darker in response to UV light. Your link above makes no mention of electronically controlled colour changing lenses.
