South Korean industrial design studio Intenxiv designed this Airshot U Plasma hair dryer. The distinctive looped handle was designed to be "more comfortable to use by the general consumer while meeting the requirements of professional hair designers," the studio writes.
As you can see, it took a ton of ergonomic studies to arrive at the finished shape:

Er... we can see they made lots of mock ups, most of which with handles with a circular cross-section. The photos alone don't communicate what the designers were studying, or how they were assessing each design.
